This past weekend we received news we thought we would never hear. The lives of unborn children have gotten their voices back! This long 50-year battle has been hard, but the Lord answered our prayers, and the devil was defeated. This so called ''federal right'' was overturned and now some states have already outlawed abortion.
There have been many of us that have showed up to March for Life in January year after year and have prayed outside of planned parenthoods for the end of this mass slaughter. This past Friday marked a great time in our country's history. When this death sentence was passed in 1973, it immediately received push back. Those of us who fight for life did not just turn over.
We took time out of our day, made our signs, took to the streets, and fought for those who silent cries were not heard. It is a baby; it has always been a baby. It is not a clump of cells has science proven to us. Science shows us that the baby has a heartbeat by 6 weeks in the womb. By 8 weeks the baby has developed webbed fingers and toes. Most women do not even know they are pregnant until well past the 6 or 8th week.
By the 6th week alone the baby is alive; they have a heartbeat. And again, most do not even know they are pregnant until they are around 2 months. The argument a pro-choicer wants to have is that it's not a baby. That it can't feel anything or know pain. But we know that that is a lie. Too many abortions happen in the later stages and those babies feel their limbs being ripped apart and their skulls crushed.
Most are greatly developed and can survive outside the womb. This is a sad tragedy that abortionists don't want us to know about. This victory is a great victory. Of course, now it is up to us in those states that will happily continue in the slaughter of babies to get those into office that will make abortion illegal. But the overturn of Roe vs Wade is a big step in the right direction.
The fact that this happened in the month dedicated to Jesus's Sacred Heart shows the Lord's mercy. He is giving us a chance to turn from this wicked practice of sacrificing our children in the name of greed, comfort, and money; and to turn to Him instead. My biggest hope is that more will see the horror of abortion and how it is destroying our society.
I hope it will teach more young men and women to wait for marriage and to stop pre-marriable sex. That society will start looking at children again as blessings and not as devils meant for punishment. Those are my prayers, but how about you? How has this event impacted you and your family?
